I’m a huge Adam Lambert fan. In fact I read the Hunger Games on Adam’s recommendation (he’s a fan.) I want to see Adam in movies desperately… but not as Cinna. I don’t think I could bear it. It would rip my heart out. Didn’t vote.
Now that I’ve been thinking about cinna for a while I realize that when I was reading the books I always pictured Alan Cumming. I know he has had some weird roles but if he wants to he can really play anything and I think he’s the perfect mix of sophisticated, having fun, sensitive, creative and not afraid to be himself.
That who I saw as Cina TOO! but when I read the second book he became Jay manuel.

when I read the books Adam Lambert was always the face I put with Cinna. His Thatrical training and kind demeanor makes him the perfect choice. the camera loves Adam!
I have two other options for Cinna:
a. Chris Colfer ( the time I found out Cinna had brown hair)
b. Jay Manuel on America’s next top model (the first face that came to mind)
I thought I was the only one – in my head I had a slightly older Chris C throughout the entire read. Cinna was one of my favorite characters – I hope they do him justice.

I actually pictured Haymitch as an older, fatter man but when I think of it, Johnny Depp would be perfect as Haymitch.

I reeeaaally think they should cast an unknown that fits the description and the appeal of Cinna’s character. I mean, come on, everyone is just talking about mainstream actors or singers so far. YOU GUYS ARE PLAYING IT WAAAAAAAY TOO SAFE! Don’t you get bored after a while? You’re just conforming to what everyone says should be popular. You’re just going to make this look like a Twilight series thing if you keep at it, which is a BAD THING. Also, why is it that you ASSUME Cinna must be gay or feminine just because he designs costumes and wears minimal makeup? That’s interesting, especially in observance of most people’s perceptions of masculinity and femininity. Peace.
Wohhh, I think you’re absolutely right. But after all wearing Make-Up as a man makes him look more feminine. But that’s no reason for assuming he’s gay or not a real man. So in the end it’s really not important if Cinna is gay or the actor who plays Cinna or any man on the world. There are just more androgyn types and less.

Newsflash — it’s called ACTING. That’s why gay actors can play straight character or straight actors can play gay characters, where married actors can play single characters, why politically-conservative actors can play bleeding heart liberal characters, why clean cut actors can play dirty slob characters, etc.
I couldn’t have said it better. Cinna is my last chance to like the movie. I pretty much detest all the other actors/actresses they picked.
Adam Lambert has had a lot of experience acting and he fits Cinna to a T. To anyone who think he’s just this “flamboyant, over the top gay dude”, you’ve obviously never seen him dressed down. Check out his video for Whataya Want From Me and just add gold eyeliner and tell me that look couldn’t be Cinna.
No he couldn’t be Cinna. I don’t want some american idol person or twilight person in this movie. Have you seen him act? Because unless you have you can’t recommend him.
Hugh Dancey, all the way. He has that quiet demeanor about him that, ironically, screams Cinna! Not to mention he is an experienced actor. I am all for new faces on the set of this movie but for the more adult roles I think going with a more experienced actor is the best choice
Adam Lambert fits with complexion and hair color but not physique. Plus, he’s too flamboyant for Cinna. I pictured a more reserved, artistic character, like a beatnik but more down-to-earth, classy. I don’t want him to appeal to the obviously gay and fashionable stereotype.

I don’t usually “cast” characters while reading a book, but Cinna was an exception – I pictured Jay Manuel throughout.
I see Adam Lambert being more suited to a character like Magnus Bane in the The Mortal Instruments series not Cinna!! :/ I’ve always imagined Cinna being really natural and quite young not like all the other Capitol people who are all surgically altered. Therefore this is why I love Hugh Dancy as Cinna,he looks almost perfect for Cinna and is similar to how I imagined him while reading the book!

For Cinna I always thought Kevin Spacey could pull the character off. He’s old enough to be a mentor to Katniss and metrosexual enough to pull the designer character off. I think he would look almost natural with gold eyeliner.
I think Jude Law would be a really good pick. Even though he is very well known, I think it could work out. Hugh Dancy is a good pick too.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt. There is no question that he would be absolutely PERFECT. Picture him, hair slicked back, wearing a suit vest and pants, tape measurer around his neck, thoughtfully considering Katniss in her Mockinjay outfit. I will probably cry if/when anyone else gets cast. JGL IS Cinna in my mind.
