Beauty High’s Capitol Couture Covers Review

Last week, we posted  about Beauty High and their passion for The Hunger Games.

One of their contributors, Augusta Falletta, has written us an exclusive BeautyHigh review of the cover looks from CapitolCouture.pn! The review is below. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

“We’re instantly transported to Panem when we gaze at Effie Trinket’s look on Capitol Couture. Somehow, she manages to pull off a beauty look consisting of a mix between a geisha, an ethereal goddess, and the ever so difficult to pull off pinkish gray hair. We expect nothing less than perfection coming from Capitol fashion, but Effie looks downright flawless.

First, her supple china doll complexion catches our eye. Talk about a smoothing exfoliation before a seemingly effortless application of her foundation (or is it paint?).

Next up, Effie’s eye makeup. If the key to any great eye shadow application is blending, hers is an excellent example. Reminiscent of a geisha, we can’t help but be drawn to her pink eye shadow that extends to her temples and cheekbones. Plus, the diamond applique on the cheekbone is like a future version of the Marilyn Monroe beauty mark.

Most of us District girls are hesitant to be daring enough to wear an uncommon lip color in conjunction with a popping eye color, but somehow Effie’s powder blue lipstick inspires us to try a similar look.

Lastly, Effie’s enviable hairstyle has us swooning. Please excuse us while we fight the urge to buy bleach and light pink hair dye. We can’t help but think that Kelly

Osbourne got the idea to dye her hair from Ms. Trinket and her paramount pink coif”

“ Arguably one of our favorite characters, we’re elated to see how Cinna translates from the pages to the silver screen. We’re reminded of Michael Kors, a genius fashion designer who chooses to focus more on the details his designs than his own elaboration. Looking dapper as a clean-cut gentleman with the most fashionable hidden details, Cinna is even more loveable with a visual.

His face is completely bare, sans for his signature gold eyeliner – almost unnoticeable, but totally a game changer when it’s noticed. His ears are not only pierced once, but also twice, giving an extra twist element. As for the rest of his look, he could walk into any situation and look appropriately dressed for the setting. Much like his design aesthetic of designing fashionable, yet covertly functional ensembles for Katniss, Cinna’s look is exciting because of the details as well as the overall picture”
