How did you learn about The Hunger Games ?
Well i was in 5Th grade when this amazing series came out. I remember my librarian putting the book out on the shelf. I immediately ran up and grabbed the book and new i had to read it. I checked out the book and figured since it was at a high reading level there wouldn’t be that large of a line. WRONG. There was a huge line i got to the second chapter and had to give it to someone else because couldn’t take being yelled at. I figured i was just going to have to wait for everybody to read it before i was going to get my chance to enjoy it. Now I’m in 9th grade and finally got my chance. I was sitting in study hall on the first day of school and i looked up at the glass bookcase and there the whole series sat begging me to read them. i jumped up loaded them all into my arms and bolted to my locker careful to make sure no one knew i had them. I read the whole series in 4 days i would of had it done sooner but igot sick. They are the best books i have ever read, i bought the whole series, i am more then hooked on them i am attached at the hip i even put them in bed with me at night when i go to sleep because i don’t dare leave my world behind.
If you were born in the dystopian era, what do you think would your life be? Would you be living in one of the districts or would you be enjoying a fabulous life in the Capitol?
No doubt i would be living in a district, most likely district 12 in the seam. I love it when people say that you cant blink when you go through there town that is population 500 or you will miss it, considering i live in a town ( village, speck of dust) of population like 92. You breathe and you will 10 miles out of my town. The closet store like walmart is about 30 miles away from my house and the closest mall is around 60 miles away. There is all dirt roads where I’m from and woods. The capitol people to me are completely disgusting and repulsive, the rich wealthy lazy people who do nothing with there lives besides get cosmetic surgery and watch children die its like that old saying ” the rich get richer while the poor get poorer.” I can see my life being in between that of the life Peeta has and Katniss’ life not extremely poor and depressed but not wealthy but happy with what i do have.
If your name was called in the reaping and you’d be participating in the Games, which of the tributes from the 74th and 75th Hunger Games will you choose as allies?
Well this may seem very cliche but i would for sure choose Katniss, I cant hunt i love to hunt, i mean when deer hunting season comes around i start freaking out. I would choose Katniss because i can hunt i cant scavenge I’m so terrible at it i would probably kill myself with a posioness leaf, that why having an Allie such as Rue or Katniss would come in handy. I would also choose Finnick Odair because he is a very skilled fisherman a skill i do not consist of. Finnick is also very good at fighting and protecting which would be nice to have during the night watches. Absolutely for sure i would also want Johanna Mason as an Alli because we are so much a like we are both determined and argumentative and get are points across there would probably be some clashing but in the end she is a strong womanly figure who would be an amazing fighter..
As a Hunger Games tribute, what would be your skill and strategy to survive?
My skill would definitely be hunting and trapping it really what I’m good at and what i enjoy. Another skill i posses is I’m very persuasive i pretty good at making people think what i want them to if i choose to do so. My strategy before the games would be to make everyone think I’m weak like Johanna did in her first games then come out in the end showing my true colors and win it all. During the games as soon as the cannon sounds i would take of a grab what ever is closest to me at the cornucopia and high tail it out of there and find a source of food, water and protection. Then i would lay low and find my chosen people to Allie with and avoid the careers at all cost not because I’m scared of them but because there not worth worrying about. Then at the end i would do what needed to be done I’m a hunter not a killer but you gotta do what you gotta do.
What do you think of ‘The Hunger Games’ movie?
IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sure they left some things out and somethings were changed but the outcome of the movie was more then what i could have asked for. Jennifer Lawrence was exactly the Katniss i imagined all the actors did spectacular, Gary Ross was spectacular the movie was amazing when it comes out on DVD this summer i probably watch it over and over and over again it was that good i loved it. it was the world i imagined it would be it was like i was there in the arena fighting the mutts fighting the careers it was superb.
What’s your favorite scene from The Hunger games movie?
OMG this is a hard choice i loved the whole movie as you can tell, um…… i would have to say my fave scene would have to be the scene where president snow places the crown on Katniss’ head, you can see the evil and the hate, you can see fire catching you can see whats to come all by looking in there eyes that proves how tremendous of actors they all are, my other fave scene would be the final arena scene where Katniss, Peeta and Cato are fighting and Cato delivers his final speech as katniss is about to shoot him, it shows a side of cato we didn’t see in the books we saw the hurt sad little boy who was never given the chance to live i loved that part i was so emotional.
I would like to add a thank you to Suzanne Collins for changing my life with these amazing works of art even though she probably wont see this i want to thank her from the bottom of my heart. I would also love to give i big thanks to Gary Ross and Nina Jacobson for bringing my world to life to help me live in the dream i could only ask for.
