I think David Slade should be director from Catching Fire. Because he directed Eclipse too. And the result was an amazing movie.

I truly think Steven Spielberg should direct Catching Fire because he is an amazing director and each and every movie he directs always leaves me dumbfounded, let alone always keeping me on my toes. Saving Private Ryan and The Color Purple still to this day impact my life.
personally I think I should direct catching fire, I have read all three books more times than anyone else claims they have and also understand all the characters moves and decisions. I would be great for the job as I have great vision and know what I want and would help everyone reach their full potential!!!!! So pick me, I volunteer as tribute ;D
The director I would love to direct is Jon Cassar!!The reaon for that is because in Terra Nova, the series was very fantasic! Also in Terra Nova the show made me feel like i was actually there-and that is an important part in Catching fire.
Also here is my tweet:

James Cameron.
Okay, I know it’s not really realistic because he’s super busy and all (I think?), but I’m not really good with directors. Hell, he’s probably the only one I know.
K. So my first reason would probably be because I loved Avatar and Titanic’s effect. I also think both movies were wonderfully directed, and James would do Catching Fire justice.
Second reason would be simply because he’s James Cameron. And I mean come on. Who can argue with that, right?
I tweeted!
I actually can’t think of anyone except Mr. Gary Ross but since he made an official statement that he’ll not direct the ‘Catching Fire’ anymore, I chose Alfonso Cuarón. I have read that he directed ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ and ‘Children of Men’,and both have dark effects and plenty of extreme action that’s fit perfectly if he’ll be the one to direct ‘Catching Fire’. And I also found out that his first featured film ‘A Little Princess’ was an adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic novel. I know that it’s not an action movie but I just love directors who turns great novels into successful movies. It’s like they’re giving LIFE to the whole story. They make our imaginations turn into reality. In fact, the result of the films were beyond our expectations! And one more thing, he’s not officially attached to any other projects so he might be able to make the ‘Catching Fire’ more thrilling and romantic than it did before!
Chris Columbus: He directed a lot of good movies, but also the 2 first films of
harry potter. in the HP movies there were different directors and it became a succes!
I think we accpect more from Catching Fire since Gary left..
still sad that he left
I would love to win the give away! And I think Gary Ross should stay directing this series because he did an amazing job with the first book! And im following on twitter.
Peter Jackson i think would be a good choice! his films are breath taking and i think he would be a awesome director for this series

I really think that Steven Spielberg should direct Catching Fire, because, looking back on his other movies, he could make it a huge success and he could really bring out what the books are trying to say. He would be a great director for Catching Fire.
I also think David Slade should direct it. I know the creators of the hunger games don’t want anything to do with twilight but he should be an exception. Eclipse was beautifully done. He showed the violence in the movie but he still showed romance. 30 days of night was awesome! He showed violence and made you connect with the characters. I think Catching Fire should have a director that can capture violence but still have you connect with the characters and the hardships they go through
I believe that Steven Spielberg should be the director. He could turn the books into a great movie that really shows everything the books are about. Many people have been talking about how they want him to direct. Everyone would be pleased if he directed. He’s an amazing director and would really make this movie great.
I think Peter Jackson or David Yates would be good directors for the series. Both managed to take their directed books and make them into pretty good adaptions in film. We don’t really know how Tolkien feels about his work on big screen, but J.K. Rowling really respected Yates efforts. Plus with him he was fine with the author being on set and giving pointers for the film adaption. More than likely he would be glad to have Suzanne on the set then as well.
i think Ken Loach the man who directed The Wind that shakes the barley should direct the next film. He often works with films that have to do with social injustice and are placed in nature. I think he would be a perfect fit.
I dunno about a lot about directors but i guess David Yate could because he directed HARRY PORTER 3 which was my fav part of Harry Porter i guess and i really liked it so ya i guess he could!
Steven Spielberg
I think that M. Night Shamala (I hope I spelt that right) should direct Catching Fire whoever directed The Hunger Games did a great job but in the beggining the camera was so shaky it gave me a headache, and in the fighting scenes too. But M. Night Shamala directed The last Airbender and signs those were both great movies. Especially The Last Airbender, which out of those movies was the most like The Hunger Games and it had some prettty awesome effects and he could make Catching Fire even better than The Hunger Games director. If you don’t believe me then watch both of those movies.
Ang Lee could have a phenomenal effect on the Hunger Games franchise. His films are always philosophical, thought-provoking, and aesthetically beautiful with all of the amazing attention to detail of landscapes. This could all work well for Catching Fire, or even for Mockingjay.
i’d love love to win this
Eveybody loved its setting and how even though they read the books it was still a bit unpredictable and FANTASTIC! hopefully catching fire will be better than haryr potter
Nuff said!
Ohh crap i deleted half of it woops :
and he made $7,701,234,647 with 8 movies :O so i think hunger games can beat that >:)
I think it should be David heymans because he did the harry potter which came from a series like thg
I think that Frank Darabont should direct Catching Fire. After Gary Ross, the Hunger Games trilogy needs an excellent director, and Darabont is the right one. He did an excellent job adapting the novella “Shawshank Redemption” to the big screen, and has also directed The Walking Dead,The Green Mile, and other movies and TV shows. These dark pieces demonstrate that Darabont can correctly interpret the sinister nature of Catching Fire. Finally, Darabont has been nominated four three Oscars, a testament to his skill.
I think Kathryn Bigelow should direct Catching Fire. I had chills being able to experience Katniss’ perspective in the Arena thanks to Gary Ross, and I think Kathryn has a gift to continue that vision. The Hurt Locker shows us that she has the ability to keep the audience anxious and distressed that at any moment you can be attacked, and not know by who or what. The Hurt Locker realistically portrays conflicted characters in conflicting situations. The nauseous camera movements that were constantly changing the point of view injected paranoia that I was at war myself. I found myself constantly on edge, prepared to embrace an attack. Like the Hunger Games; it’s life or death when you trust someone else with your life. My body was tense during the entirety of both The Hunger Games and The Hurt Locker. Kathyrn has gift in eliciting constant uneasiness when characters are thrown into a war mentality. Her work encompasses violence, deceit, as well as courage and strength. Who is better way to portray the strongest heroine Katniss Everdeen, then Kathyrn Bigelow; the strongest female director.
I feel like Steven Spielberg should direct it! He’s a great, classic director just like the books! They really need someone great to continue this legacy and we know Steven Speilberg wouldn’t let us down! I want to be a movie director when I grow up and if I could direct it, I would! Steven Speilberg has always been my idol!
I think that Steven Spielberg should direct. He’s one of my favorite directors, and he seems to be able to look at things from a child’s or teen’s point of view. That would seem to be important in the case of books written for teens brought to the silver screen.
Stephen Sommers, he directed Van Helsing and did such an amazing job too! i think he’ll be able to really capture the storyline for Catching Fire and put alot of the details (the action, romance, etc.) into the movie and do the best he can or better. he’s definately me #1 recommendation for you guys!
As for choosing the director-to-be of Catching Fire, David Yates has my vote. Why? Not only he had directed four of the HP series which are the most action-packed ones, but also he is a great director with a keen visual sense who fills each frame with humanity and compassion for his characters. I wish he use the shaky camera effect if ever to maintain the sensation viewers felt during the first movie.
I want Alfonso Cuaron to direct Catching Fire.
Suzanne Collins should direct Catching Fire.
She is the author of it and helped write part of The Hunger Games script!
I think James Camoron should direct it. His movies are a HIT!
Steven Spielberg definitely!
I have to say, there’s a lot, but if i had to pick 1, it’d be james cameron
Steven Spielberg
I really don’t know who should direct the movie because I’m not good with directors. but I hope that whomever it is has read and connected with the books and gives the movie the justice it deserves
As weird as it may be, I think David Fincher would be pretty good. The Social Network and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo were both quite good. He’s good at films that are smart and convey a message, which is what the trilogy is all about right?
I personally think that Suzanne Collins should direct it because who doesn’t know the movies more than the author of the book and the script!!!!!
To be honest, I think Steven Spielberg should direct it. First and foremost because he is an outstanding director and for him to direct Catching Fire, that would seriously be amazing. Imagine all the graphics and effects he would add up to everything.
Peter Jackson. I have absolute faith in him. His movies our flawless. He resecpts the books he adapts and he cares so much about the material that their author created. The Lord of the Rings books are beloved, and has a huge fan-base of peolpe that care for the charaters. Jackson did an amazing job with the films, and now the movies are beloved to the fans as much as the books are. I know for a fact that Peter Jackson will never go against Suzanne’s word, and we give us a movie that we would be proud of. GO PETER JACKSON!
Joe Wright…because we need a director who can channel a strong female voice like in ‘Hanna’.
@FieldsofMan
I think Steven Speilberg should direct Catching Fire. His films are absolutely amazing and breathtaking! He would be a perfect choice to direct Catching Fire.
I think that Chris Columbus should direct Catching Fire because he did an amazing job with the first couple Harry Potter films. Or Steven Speilberg because he is a genius and we all know that he could create a fantastic potrayal of this book! Whoever ends up being the director better do a really great job because Catching Fire was my favorite book from the series and Gary Ross is pretty hard to live up to
It would be totally awesome if Christopher Nolan could direct the film because he created the “dream” worlds from Inception. In catching fire, we visit all the districts plus the new arena and it would be cool to see what he makes them look like. Plus he has a good grip on futuristic themes in my opinion
I think Michael Bay should direct Catching Fire. He is extremely talented and has directed some major movies with awesome effects such as Transformers:Dark of the Moon, Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Bad Boys II, I Am Number Four, etc. He is the obvious choice if you want a good movie in my opinion.
I think a Harry Pottter Director shouldj do it because look how successful those were
HP’s director should direct the remaining books.
i don’t know many directors but i loved Gary Ross’s directing in this movie so i choose him, such amazing details that i have not seen before
I think the guy who directed twilight should direct catching fire because he stays true to the book I mean it’s not exactly like the book but you don’t get lost and it’s more exciting. Catching fire is a great book who ever directs it they should be adding any scenes they should stick with the book it’s would be really cool if the twiggy director made a scene for evey chapter of catching fire it would be like 4 hours long And it would be more enjoyable and worth watching it so many times
*shouldnt and *twilight
Francis Lawrence
chris gorak should direct the second and third sequel because he directed the movie the darkest hour which is a sci-fi movie
