I think Alfonso Cuarón should direct Catching Fire because he did a fantastic job in the Harry Potter series. He has experience with making a movie based on an internationally popular series evidently and I think that this is a major criteria that must be considered. I also think that he should direct Catching Fire because he knows how to connect the audience to the movie which is important because movies based on books are generally disappointing and because he has experience doing so in a very accurate way, he would be perfect!
Francis Lawrence all the way… He will most definitely create a Catching Fire that we would expect…
as long as catching fire is as ANAZING as the hunger games and what every one expects it dosent matter who directs catching fire as long as it is very similar to the book !!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <3 <3
I agree with those who said Alfonso Cuarón should direct Cathing fire. He obviously has good experience with huge block buster movies, based on books. I have no doubt that he would help give Catching fire just the right touches to make it as good as the Hunger Games. Not to mention the fact that he would be luckey enough to have an OUTSTANDING story to direct!
Alfonso Cuarón i think would have done a great job but i think im more concerned with the script writer adapting the book well, because its my favorite in the series and im hoping it stays as true to the book as hunger games movie was, so hoping lawrence will work closely with suzanne collins.
I wasn’t thinking of Francis Lawrence as the new director of Catching Fire, but if he does become the director, I’m excited to see what he can do to make Catching Fire come alive.
Francis Lawrence. Why not? First, he has the same last name as Jennifer Lawrence. JK. But i mean come on. He is awesome. I am Legend was an amazing movie. The graphics, the quality,.. everything! He has also directed numerous music videos for phenom. singers! Lady GaGa! Brittney Spears! J- Lo! Frnacis Lawrence. Enough said. (:
Francis Lawerence Because He Is EXTREMLEY Talented and Works Very Hard To Make Sure He Did His Best Im A HUGE Fan Of Him!
I think Alfonso Cuarón should direct Catching Fire because he had Harry Potter an awsome series and alot of people loved Harry Potter and it had got many awards and I know the Hunger Games was named number 1 movie and if Alfonso Cuarón directs it more people will probobly go see it because he did an awsome job in Harry Potter. So he will probobly help it get even more views.
I was reading about Francis Lawrence and also I’ve seen his movies like “I am legend”.. He did an excelente job, He has imagination and a good view of how to do an apocalyptic stage..And He has a lot of experience doing music videos with differents stages and ideas, He has a lot to give I think He is going to do a great job with Catching Fire!
Well, since it has already been announced that Francis Lawrence will be directing Catching Fire, I guess we’ll just have to wait and and see how he’ll do in the film. Let’s hope he doesn’t ruin it though.
But in my opinion, I think either Chris Columbus or Christopher Nolan would be good for the movie. Columbus did a great job on the Harry Potter series. Likewise, Nolan also did a great job on the Batman series, and also on Inception.
Francis Lawrence, because i love his work and i think he will do a great job
I’d say James Cameron because of the other movies he’s directed like Titanic and Avatar. He would be awesome — but the director, Francis Lawrence, has already been chosen — never heard of him.

i think francis Lawrence will do an amazing job as he did in other films he had directed such as i am legend(which he did an amazing job and i actually cried a few times) but as long as he doesnt veer of the book to much and contains a appropiate atmosphere and interaction between the characters i think catching fire will be just as good as hunger games
I think Francis Lawrence is a really good choice for directing Catching Fire. Although I would have loved to see James Cameron. He always does an awesome job with directing, but Francis Lawrence did an amazing job with ‘I am legend’ and I have faith in him. I really hope that the script will be good too.
I think that since Gary Ross wont be directing “Catching Fire” BREAKS MY HEART!:( < / 3. I think that the director who should direct is David Yates from Harry Potter. The reason I choose him is because depite the fact that there were 2 other directors who dropped out of the franchise..he still came to direct the final films<3!. Also because him along with other directors STUCK TO THE AMAZING BOOK! which is what made the movies breathtaking! AND THAT IS WHAT FANS OF THE BOOKS LOOK FOR IN THE MOVIES.. A DIRECTOR WHO STICKS TO THE INCREDIBLE BOOOK!!!! therfore, since Harry Potter is done..Yates should come to direct the Trilogy<3!! <3
Francis Lawrence!!
I like Christopher Nolan for director. He does really well with dark dramas.
I personally think with as much action will be in catching fire the should get Christopher Nolan …. I mean the guy is just amazing with his work on dark night the intense sadistic way he made the joker seem would be great for the character johaana in this move and maybe it might even help finnicks character… But he has a away of capturing the most important promising scenes for a movie as anticapated as catching fire will be.
ANDREW ADAMSON!!!!!!!!!!!
I belive that David Yates from Harry Potter should do it, he had made it like the book which was amazing and the movie should be like the book. also there might be other directors to but i belive he is he oe for the job!
Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings) is my choice. He has the experience of filming a long story. There are two morew books to this story. However, I believe Lawrence has already been chosen.
I think the hunger games movie was a good movie.some of the best parts of the book was brought to life on screen.while reading the 1st book a imagined alove story mixed in to all the mayhem. I just didn’t see it on screen. One kiss wow what was that?Hopefully the real ending of the 1st book is shown in the beginning of the second movie.the feelings behind how the characters felt as they get back to District 12

As long as the director catches the essence of the book and keeps its focus on the main events and doesn’t skimp on details it shouldn’t matter who it is. They just need to keep the story alive, but if I had to choose one person as director it would be David Yates, the man who directed the greatest of the Harry Potter’s and brought the action to life. I grew up with Harry Potter and he made it come to life for me on the screen, if anyone can make the ‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ great-it would be him.
