I don’t mean to be a negative Nelly, but I think whoever has their fingers on the pulse of teendom, but I think that when “Harry Potter” was not even considered for a nomination for the Oscars, I thought they were robbed.

Please don’t get me wrong. I’ve read all the Harry Potter books. I never went so nuts that I started entering on websites, but it was eight movies, and eight fabulous movies at at that, with the cream of English theatre acting joining in various character roles.

My gut feeling, and a subsequent couple of tweets, is that the actors’ agents will tell the actors that it’s a shoo-in, get ready to start rehearsing for awards by winning the MTV awards.

Once Harry has ridden into the sunset, it’s true, they’re going to win every teen-related media award and a few adult media awards. But it’s wrong to build up their expectations, then have them dashed as every category goes to “Harry”, except maybe for kiss, which Robert Pattenson and Kristin Stewart get to do only one more time.

Maybe I’m being too much of a Negative Nellie. Okay. I loved the books, and I loved the first movie for HG.

But eight movies lasting 10 years, and no love from the Oscars? That was criminal. At least with “Lord of the Rings” they were ignored until the last one, then They won every category they were entered in, I think. Well, they won Best Picture, which is a HUGE award to get.

Anyway, don’t consider it a slam dunk. A few teenage girls out there liked the Harry Potter movies. Just a cautionary note. xo

P.S. Otherwise, VOTE to your hearts’ content! We did it for “Moonlight” for the People’s Choice Awards, and it worked! Even though the show was cancelled after one year, we were proud of that mobilization.
