Interview With Eric Hennig, One Of The Guests In The Hunger Games Convention

Eric Hennig portrayed one of the game techs in The Hunger Games movie. He will be one of the guests in the first ever Hunger Games convention called Fiction2Film, which will be held in Chicago on June 23-24.
Here’s our exclusive interview with Eric:
1. How did you get into acting?

I’ve wanted to be an actor for as long as I can remember. I started acting in school plays when I was around six. When I was in 8th grade I auditioned for “Young Peoples Theater” and got the male lead in “The Homecoming”. I remember that feeling I got on stage and knew this is what I wanted to do. I started taking acting classes at the local college and remember having the time of my life.

After I graduated high school, I signed with a local agency called “Azalea” and began working locally. In my spare time, I continued taking classes and studying the craft. About a year later I signed with another agency in North Carolina.

My story might not be the fairy tale of getting scouted in the mall or something but I wouldn’t change a thing. My journey got me to where I am today and I have learned a lot. It may sound cheesy but you can do anything you want if you never give up! A great friend once told me “Rejection is Protection”.

2. How did you get involved in The Hunger Games movie?

I heard about “The Hunger Games” from my agent in North Carolina. At the time, I didn’t know anything about it. I knew right away it was something I wanted to be apart of! I remember reading the books and imagining what it would play like on screen. A month or so later I got a call to be a “Game Tech”. I remember feeling like I had just won the lottery.

It has been one of the best experiences of my life! The amount of support and appreciation for the film is un-believable! I’ve never seen such dedicated fans. I remember the first fan letter I got from the movie and I couldn’t believe how sweet and kind it was. I’ve never felt so much support and love before. I’m truly blessed to be apart of this family and get to share the journey with all of you.

3. Can you tell us about the projects you are currently working on?
I just finished the first episode of a new web series called “How To Kill A Pitch” that will be pitched to “Funny or Die”. It’s a short comedy mocking creative directors. It’s hilarious and I can’t wait for everyone to see it! It should be released in a few weeks.I’m also a “Glissando” in Universals film “Pitch Perfect” which hits theaters everywhere October 5th.I have a couple great things coming up but I can’t say anything yet. I will be at “Fiction2Film Hunger Games Convention” in Chicago June 23-24. I’ll be in the vendors room through out the weekend to sign autographs, meet fans and do photo opps.San Diego Comic Con- I will have a table in the autograph room located on the second level in the Sails Pavilion.
