HungerGamesTrilogy.net’s Fan of the Week is Alexis. She sent us a photo from the Mall of America tour in which she and her friend met The Hunger Games cast members – Foxface, Cato, Katniss, Peeta, Clove, and Rue.

Here’s Alexis’ answers to our ‘Hunger Games’ questions:

1. How did you learn about The Hunger Games?

My mom encouraged me to read them last summer(2012) and I’ve been obsessed ever since. I even got my best friend to read them and it brought us a lot closer.

2. If you were born in the dystopian era, what do you think would your life be? Would you be living in one of the districts or would you be enjoying a fabulous life in the Capitol?

I think I would be living in one of the districts being that the Capitol lifestyle doesn’t appeal to me. I would want to live in District 4 because I love water and swimming.

3. If your name was called in the reaping and you’d be participating in the Games, which of the tributes from the 74th and 75th Hunger Games will you choose as allies?

From the 74th, I think I’d try and ally with Foxface because she was very wise about the decisions she made, even if she didn’t win. In the 75th, I would ally with Finnick for sure. He has great attributes and I’d want him on my side to protect me.

4. As a Hunger Games tribute, what would be your skill and strategy to survive?

I think I would be best at surviving in the wild without the help of every day items. I would be able to take care of myself and my ally. Also, I know how to shoot a bow so that would be another thing that would help.

5. What do you think of ‘The Hunger Games’ movie?

I think the movie portrayed the book in a very great way. There were some parts that were left out, but the way the actors and actresses portrayed thecharacters was absolutely perfect. Jennifer Lawrence is the perfect Katniss Everdeen.

6. What’s your favorite scene from The Hunger games movie?

My favorite scene is probably the scene when Gale says goodbye to Katniss before she goes into the games. I’ve always rooted for the Katniss and Gale relationship and I think the chemistry between them was just so perfect.

1. How did you learn about The Hunger Games?

I found out about the hunger games when my teacher started reading it to the class and it was taking along time. so during the Christmas break I read them all and I loved them so much.

2. If you were born in the dystopian era, what do you think would your life be? Would you be living in one of the districts or would you be enjoying a fabulous life in the Capitol? I would probably be living in a district and I would probably be like rue taking care of my younger siblings because I love my family so much.

3. If your name was called in the reaping and you’d be participating in the Games, which of the tributes from the 74th and 75th Hunger Games will you choose as allies?I think I would choose to have rue, katniss & peeta because they know what they are doing and they are smart.

4. As a Hunger Games tribute, what would be your skill and strategy to survive?

My strategy would to hide out and wait for other people to die I would also make an alliance to help. In my interview I would try to make the audience like me by complementing them. My skill would be using a bow and arrows and camouflage.

5. What do you think of ‘The Hunger Games’ movie?

I think the movie was really well done and they got the most important parts down good.Gary Ross did a great job with this movie

6. What’s your favourite scene from The Hunger games movie?

I think my favourite part is when katniss in her interview dress and she spins and you see the flames and then you get the girl on fire.

HungerGamesTrilogy.net’s Fan of the Week is Nicole. She’s 12 years old ans she’s from the U.S.A.

1. How did you learn about The Hunger Games?

In around 2010, I was chilling with my cousins. My cousins are huge book worms and all they do is read. We were talking about our favorite books and then Bianca (one of my cousins) had an emotional breakdown of how much she loves Peeta and Katniss. They then told me about what it was about and I then bought the books and read the series in 3 days. Yup, that’s how good they were. I am so obsessed that I got almost everyone in my all of my classes attached. I’m also known as Katniss in my school which is cool:)

2. If you were born in a dystopian era, what do you think would your life be? Would you be living in one of the districts or would you be enjoying a fabulous life in the capital?

If I had to choose, I would probably be district 4. Although I love the hunting and the seam, I love the beach and fishing. I’m close to the beach all summer and its my thing to go swimming and be like Finnick. In the books, it fascinates me how well they know how to fish, and get food. Also I would want to be Katniss and hunt because she is very brave and takes care for her family. In District 4 your not as poor as in District 12 because your closer to the Capitol and that would be better.

3. If your name was called in the reaping and you’d be participating in the games, which of the tributes from the 74th and 75th hunger games will you choose as allies?

I would definitely choose Katniss. She can hunt, use traps, and fight. She will help me win and I think that we would be really good allies.

4. As a hunger games tribute, what would be your skill and strategy to survive?

I would definitely pull a Peeta. Run away, team up with the careers and then camouflage myself. I would follow Haymitch’s advice: don’t go to the Cornucopia , go to high ground, and find water. If it worked for Katniss, it will probably for me.

5. What do you think of the Hunger Games movie?

UM I THOUGHT IT WAS AMAZING??!!??!??!!?? Who didn’t?! If I didn’t think it was amazing why would I go see it 6 times!

6. Whats your favorite scene from the Hunger Games?

THE KISS! It was so cute, so loving and the best part ever. I also really liked the part were she’s running from the fire, and also the part were she blows up the food. It is so amazing! Don’t get me started when rue died. When she sang the Meadow song, I sing along with her everytime. Every line almost I say along with. I cried so hard when she died.

Q and A with Maddie

1) How did you learn about The Hunger Games?

I had heard about the Hunger Games from Pinterest actually…but didn’t take much thought about it, until my friend started to urge me to read it. She told me that it wasn’t your “run-in-the-mill” book, but one of the best she had read in her life. She also told me that they were going to be making a movie, when I looked up the cast and saw that Josh, and Jennifer were gonna be in it, I wanted to read it right away. So when Christmas came and I got a reader, my first purchase was the trilogy, I couldn’t put it down, and since then I have read the first book 11 times and the other two books 6 times each. I am such a fanatic, and I have bought almost all the magazines, have three different Katniss outfits, and saw the movie 6 times. I am totally in love with this series and have even taken up archery and made several parodies. I <3 Hunger Games!

2) If you were born in the dystopian era, what do you think would your life be? Would you be living in one of the districts or would you be enjoying a fabulous life in the Capitol?

Well of course as everyone else would like to say ” I’d probably want to be in district 12″ and who wouldn’t wanna be Katniss? But if it were reality, I’d probably end up fishing in 4, or harvesting in 11. But I would NOT want to be in the Capitol, not just because they are blood thirsty and disgusting to me anyway, but because I am one of those people who finds it hard to be idle. I honestly would not wanna just lay around and eat all day. And I would definitely hunt in the woods, I would probably be afraid, but I would still do it. From actual experience, I’m pretty good with a bow, and roughing it in the woods would not be hard for me, because I know plenty of edible plants ( dandelion tops are delicious, the bottoms…not so much) and I am not squeamish at all.

3) If your name was called in the reaping and you’d be participating in the Games, which of the tributes from the 74th and 75th Hunger Games will you choose as allies?

This is a hard one but I’d have to say for one Rue…because despite her being adorable and all, she really is of some use (using her slingshot and providing me with another opinion on edible plants). Another might be Foxface, except that I might be a little afraid that she wouldn’t be loyal and I might ultimatley end up dead. But I guess the ideal team to me would be Thresh (his strength), Rue ( I could trust her), Peeta ( I could trust him too), Katniss ( great food source, though might be a threat when provoked), and perhaps Johanna ( I have no idea why, haha, I just like her courage). Though I wouldn’t object to an alliance with Beete and Finnick either.

4) As a Hunger Games tribute, what would be your skill and strategy to survive?

I know I’m no fighter so I would stay hidden and set any traps I could. That’s the only chance I’d have.

Mostly to lay low, unless I had to protect myself, which I would if the time came. I don’t think I would hunt anyone down, but rather keep to the outer edge of the arena. Possibly hunting and replenishing my water source while waiting till it came down to the final couple of tributes. Then if I had any alliances, I would break them off, but not kill them just seperate, as to reduce the risk of having to kill them. Then make my way a bit deeper into the arena, spying on other tributes assesing there weaknesses and trying to see if I could knock out any sources of food they might have. I guess I would kill someone but the thought doesn’t rest well with me so mostly just lay low until the final few.

5) What do you think of ‘The Hunger Games’ movie?

It is the best movie EVER!!!!!! The first time I saw it I didn’t take a breath the whole movie….I just sat there ,my eyes glued to the screen, and when it was over I felt like I could breath again. It was sooooo intense, and so artistically done. I loved it. I cried and laughed and was just freaking amazed. Which brings me to the cast who were the best cast I could hav hoped for! Jennifer conveyed through her eyes, every inside thought Katniss had in the book. It was amazing to see her act, cause it didn’t feel like she was acting., it seemed rather effortless. Josh was an AMAZING Peeta, but then again, I knew he would be. I have no doubt that because they involved Suzanne Collins in the casting process, they the best actors possible. The Careers genuinley scared me, I felt kind of sorry for Gale, Haymitch and Effie were spot on…everything was great. I found the movie to be unreal and beyond my usual hope for a book-to-movie franchise. I will be buying this as soon as it comes out.

6) What’s your favorite scene from The Hunger games movie?

Rue’s death without a doubt. Amandala played Rue perfectly. Jennifer Lawrence had the rawest emotion in this scene. I cried so hard, every single time I saw it. When you see Jennifer scream, I just couln’t hold it in anymore. It was so powerful, and even though I hated the Capitol before, I could’t help but loathe them even more after it. The uprising in 11 was a nice touch… I totally stated ” This is WRONG, you people are sick, your killing our children and enjoying it, this is the most demented thing ever.” I was shaling so hard after that scene….it was amazing. If I had to pick another it would probably be the Reaping, cause though it was sad in the book seeing it visually sent me over the edge and all Icould think was ” What if that was MY sister they were about to send of to her death, what would i do?” It was great. So far as funny scenes though I love many of Jen and Josh’s onscreen exhanges mad me laugh histerically.

HungerGamesTrilogy.net’s Fan of the Week is I’m Angela Spencer. She is 23 years old and she’s from the U.S.A. She shared us pictures of her “Girl on Fire” costume which she wore for the premiere of The Hunger Games.

1. How did you learn about The Hunger Games?

I had a friend ask me if I’d heard of the books and I hadn’t, but I looked them up as soon as possible because I’m an avid reader. That was the beginning of the end!

2. If you were born in the dystopian era, what do you think would your life be? Would you be living in one of the districts or would you be enjoying a fabulous life in the Capitol?

I’ll admit the comforts of the Capitol would be nice but I could never turn a blind eye to what was going on in the districts. I would use my advantage to better life in the districts. But I guess it all depends on where I was born right?

3. If your name was called in the reaping and you’d be participating in the Games, which of the tributes from the 74th and 75th Hunger Games will you choose as allies?

Katniss, because I know I could trust her. Rue, because my protective instinct would be too strong. Peeta, because I never could avoid his charm. Mags, cuz how could I leave an old lady to die? And Finnick, because how could I turn away those mad skills and gorgeousness?

4. As a Hunger Games tribute, what would be your skill and strategy to survive?

5. What do you think of ‘The Hunger Games’ movie?

I think they made the perfect movie. You can never include everything in the book into the movie, and changes have to be made. They interpreted the feel and purpose of the book perfectly. And the actors were expertly chosen. Jennifer Lawrence IS Katniss, and Josh Hutcherson perfectly fit my vision of Peeta.

6. What’s your favorite scene from The Hunger games movie?

That’s really hard. Jennifer’s performance when Rue dies always completely captures me. But I think when Peeta is putting the medicine on Katniss’s forehead is when we really see that they are falling in love, and nothing beats that.

1. How did you learn about The Hunger Games?

My friend read the books when they first came out, and recommended them to me, and I read all three within a week.

2. If you were born in the dystopian era, what do you think would your life be? Would you be living in one of the districts or would you be enjoying a fabulous life in the Capitol?

If I was born in this era, I would be living in one of the districts. I think it would be so challenging and difficult, I couldn’t even imagine living in a time like that.

3. If your name was called in the reaping and you’d be participating in the Games, which of the tributes from the 74th and 75th Hunger Games will you choose as allies? I would probably choose Katniss or Finnick, because they are smart and are reliable to have your back.

4. As a Hunger Games tribute, what would be your skill and strategy to survive? Trust no one. I would then probably just find a tree or somewhere to hide out.

5. What do you think of ‘The Hunger Games’ movie?

The Hunger Games’ movie blew me away. It was amazing, I loved every minute of it. It did not disapoint the books.

6. What’s your favorite scene from The Hunger games movie?

My favorite scene is either the cave scene or Cato’s death.
