How would you survive The Hunger Games

Here is how I Nora Hutcherson would survive The Hunger Games:
1. while waiting for the buzzer to sound: take inventory of the scenery
see what weapons or survival packs are around
2. Run!
3. Make no friends(you must resist the power of the hotties!)
4. Establish a source of food and water
5. Find a place out of sight, and weather resistant
6. Stay out of sight for as long as possible
7. Only kill if they see you or if you are 100% positive they're a hit!

You mean if a certain braided archer from District 12 came up to you all helpless and needy and begged you for an alliance you'd tell her to take a hike? Come on, no-one's that strong!!!

I would first of all make myself out to be weak during the training to make the other tributes believe that I am not a threat. I would make no alliances either. Once in the arena, I would grab the pack/supply furthest from the cornucopia and run into the forest. Once in the forest (assuming that it is a forest type arena) I would scope things out while others are still fighting in the cornucopia. Then I would find a place to hide. Assuming I managed to grab/make a bow and arrow, I would kill other tributes like how a sniper would, choosing to remain unseen. Of course, there would be certain tributes that I would rather not kill, for any reason, and leave them to each other. I would hunt, and if I had to cook meat, I would start the fire in a spot away from wherever my camp was and use the driest wood, for hope of less smoke. .. after that I'd just hope for the best!

but, in this situation, I'd at least try. I'd probably go with Foxface's method... Only I'd study plant gathering in training, and never, ever eat anybody else's berries!

I think that the most important aspect is knowing how you would survive on your own. Yes, it will be about how you could go out on the offensive and how you will keep up with the other tributes' power but it will also rely heavily on how you will cope up with the environment. And until you be the master of that, it would be tough to survive out there on your own, unfortunately.

It seems to me that the whole point of the games is to keep the various districts divided and under the direct control of the capitol. If all the tributes suddenly decided to unite and refuse to kill each other the capitpl would have no choice but to release them all (showing an unacceptable level of weakness to the districts) or to unleash a wave of wolves or fireballs or whatever and kill them all (potentially enraging the districts who could follow the example of their tributes and unite against the central government) Either scenario would not be good for the capitol. Judging from the level of decadence displayed by the people of the capitol, (the lavish lifestyle the ridiculous clothes the silly behavior...) they have become soft and would be rather easy for the people of the outlying districts to beat. The capitol would have to rely on their superior machines and weapons to win but without the raw materials supplied by the districts they wouldn't last long. besides, if they were successful in destroying the districts (blowing them all up the way they did to district 13) they would themselves be doomed with no people or resources left to exploit. The question the people of the districts have to answer is: do we want to continue sacrificing ourselves one at a time to a hopeless cause and artificial rewards (the rich house and lazy lifestyle given to the winner) or would we be better off all fighting at once with the possibility (however slim) of defeating the capitol and forcing them into a more equitable arrangement. (of course, human nature being what it is there is a strong probability that the situation would simply be reversed with the districts becoming just as tyrranical as the former capitol. (See the Russian revolution where the communists became as bad or worse than the royal dynasty they replaced...)

Definitely 1. You can't win the games with no weapons or food and water. If you were sneaky, the gamemakers would eventually kill you, easily.
