So the series ended, how do you feel about it?

The only way I see her being with Gale is if she would have never volunteered to go for her sister but then there would be no books! But on another note if Peeta would have been killed in the arena or during the war she would have ended up with Gale she says it herself can't remember where I think it was in CF she said it but I could be mistaken as well.

Man I don't remember that. Wish you knew where. Yea I thought if something happened to her he would have settled for Delly. I'm glad they got to be with each other - they complete each other. Peeta makes Katniss strong and Katniss makes Peeta brave. Together they are pretty awesome.

i remember something about she belongs to gale and gale belongs to her but i came to think of that as they were family - like with prim and her mom. I don't remember her saying if not with peeta she would be with gale - not sure thought. At that point in the book she was pretty confused about her feelings and tried to make something with gale once he was hurt but it was nothing like with peeta. I don't think they would have ended up together though, because if the games never happened I don't think she'd want to be with anyone, especially not with the possibility of having kids. Peeta started a war with his words and the war set her free. Without it I don't think she'd have ever been free of her fears. Just my take on things. could be wrong.

I just found some symbolism in the book she might or might not have meant. I find that her word choices are too controlled to be an accident - like the pearl - a beautiful, perfect stone and Peeta meeting stone. Mellark - the sufix Mel means honey in greek. In MJ when her mom is up set about the song Katniss hides under a Honeysuckle bush. Maybe it is not something she meant -but man it seems to much. Peeta, her savior, her stone / rock, her perfect pearl, her dandelion, her hope, her sweet love, her sweetheart, her honey. Just saying.

I agree with you that she shouldn't be with gale. (You know my point here, not being with gale. atleast staying friends) however the first time she kissed peeta she didn't got that feeling. So that isn't entirely true. However to help your point. The first time she kissed Peeta. (so Katniss kissed peeta instead of Peeta Katniss) was in the cave and she got that feeling.

True - but only the kisses with Peeta meant hunger to her - though not all of them did you are right. It takes time to build something, not like destroying something - she makes that point when she was with Rue.

I have something else for you. I keep running across songs that remind me of the games - either Katniss to Peeta or Peeta to Katniss kind of things. I came across one that says a lot to me. My parents were big Carpenter's fans - lol. WOW! That is awesome! Who knows it could mean something, if not it will now!

At one point in MJ Finnick offers Katniss sugar because it will help with the coffee (a bitter adult drink). They talk about how they will rebuild Panem and who is left in the Capitol at the end but Peeta, the stone, the rock - a solid foundation. Ok I could go on and on - but it all means something of that I'm certain - Katniss is a plant related to Rue another plant and Katniss is shortened to Kat or Cat and Gale calls Katnip (a drug that has strange powers on cats) - who's name is Buttercup - another plant with great mean, and yellow flowers like the dandelion it is a spring flower.

Just a random tought, are you able to connect almost everything to something? Hard to explain. But that you see in real life also combinations.
