Sunshine, didnt take it personally at all,
To try and explain firstly I agree CF has the Peeta and Katniss relationship sown up and obvious.
When we get to MJ its very light touch, the Epilogue just seems like the last few chapters rushed, as if SC had enough at this point, so where I feel the basis of my issue is.
Firstly the detachment from Gale is forced, its not what she wants, although its written as relief when she is told about Gale (which she asks about , she never asks about Peeta!) could be taken as relief he is happy.
When she works through in her head that she needs to survive is the Dandelion in the Spring rather than Gales fire, thats not sentiment or Love thats just acceptance, Katniss never had to make the decision with Peeta and Gale it was made for her, Gale didnt return and Peeta did.
But my biggest moan is the line "Peeta and I grow back together", hence my thats not realisation of loving feelings, thats acceptance of time and little else, I am sure if we said to out Partners etc that I have grown to love you it wouldnt go down too well
Thats all, I think with all the raw emotions of the 1st two books, the 3rd although a good book leaves a few too many gaps and the Epilogue is one for me.
