What you thought of the book! spoilers

I thought mockingjay was terrible. I am the biggesst hunger game fan out there. But this one...fell flat. The stuff the characters did, wouldnt happen. It lost something without peeta (there was only crazy peeta, know awesome peeta) in the other books when characters died the wway she wrote, it made me care they died. This one not so much. Also hello this is a WAR more people should be dead. Almost all of them were safe and cozy in district 13. The maine thing besides the characters that bugged me was the end. First off let me say gale (and I am on team petta) would never do that. just ditch her while she is crazy. It seems the whole ending was just the easy way to end it. Okay yay happily every after. like a fairytale. Bth guys katniss loves are safe and alive, but she didnt have to make an aganizing dramatic choice. nope they decided for her. easy as pie. Everything is happily ever after...yay. No not yay. I loved theese books because how real they feal. How not all is perfect. Also hello! WAHT HAPPENED TO EVERY OTHER CHARACTER!seriously, what happened to johanna, haymitch, her mom, GALE, EVERYONE! And there was so much I hoped to find out in this book. How did the hunger games start? (the voting pergaps) what was panem like before the first rebellion, how did the world go from this to that. EVERYTHING. She should write 2 more books the history of panem and a super etended epilouge that tells what happens to everyone else. I really thought the book was a flop. Ur thoughts?

I know some people have mentioned they thought it was uncharacteristic of Gale to leave, I think he did it because there was a wedge now between him and Katniss because of the bomb. That wedge was too deep. And throughout the books, their friendship had deteriorated a lot. I agree he might have checked up on her, but maybe he called, and she didn't answer. Maybe he wrote and she didn't reply back. Maybe he got reports from Greasy Sae.

And I think she did make a choice, she made a choice to not follow Gale, to not run after him and declare her love and that he was the one for her. I think she realized they were too similar in the wrong ways. I might be reading too much into it, but that is how I felt when reading it.

I dont know, I thought it was just an easy way out for suzzane collins , She wasnt well engough to go after him anyway.

I do agree with you, it was a little sudden how he left, thought I might has missed something when he was suddenly in 2. I also agree that maybe she could have given them a better parting, I mean they were friends for years. While I enjoyed the epilogue, i am curious what happened to the others, especially Johanna, I mean if they hadn't flooded her training and she freaked out, she probably would have died like everyone else on that mission.

I think she sshould write a book just called "epilouge," to tell about everyone. and a history of panem book too.

Well I liked the book, my rating would be B+. Others thought it was horrible. Maybe because they expected too much or the ending have not met their expectations. But come on, the story was not designed to have a very happy ending. At first I was devastated too, but as I read through the pages I somehow appreciated it by processing it in my mind the way the author wanted her readers to do. So for me it was a very good read and hats off to Suzanne Collins for officially making The Hunger Games part of our lives!!!

the ending was just like how harry potter ended. it gave an ending but didnt tell us how the other characters ended up.
the book was sad. and whenever i think of peeta i feel soooo sad. For him and katniss. because he'll always have messed up memories of them together.
i hate the capital. they should have like tortured Snow.
i was extremly shocked when Priim and Finnick died, it was just sad. i could hardly think after that.
so much people died and in the end, so much cant be who they were. like Effie and the prep team.
its sad that the series are ending.

Peeta and Katniss now have more in common than Gale will ever understand...they're now both BROKEN. They have a connection that no one will ever understand. It was always about Peeta and keeping him safe..she'll always feel that way.

first, i can't believe its actually over. I was actually brought to tears as i finished mockingjay, because the books have become such a huge part of my life. I seriously love them to death. but to be honest, i really thought collins dropped the ball with that ending. it was just utterly depressing and sad and i had absolutely no sense of closure at the final page. she managed to write with such intensity for thg and cf,but mockingjay made me feel numb. I agree completely with everyone whos saying the characters did things not,well, characteristic. I feel like it was a hasty ending to a story and characters that fans adore so much. not to mention, I am team gale 100%, and the fact that she picked peeta made me feel like she didnt fight, she went with the choice that was easiest, which is not something katniss would do.argue all u want that she actually loved peeta, blah blah blah. but no one can argue the ties gale and katniss had with each other.

I agree with most of what you say, except the part about her not picking Peeta, she did pick him, by not going to see Gale. At any point she could have called or written or visited Gale if that is who she wanted to be with, she picks Peeta because she knows he is better for her than Gale.

I do love how SC writes, I mean right up to the very very end, I was not sure who Katniss would pick, it wasn't like Twilight where clearly Bella was going to chose Edward. I truly feel like this was a much harder choice for Kat, and I do feel like she made a choice.
