First Look At ‘The Hunger Games Adventures’ Facebook Game

Huffington Post has an exclusive first look at  ’The Hunger Games Adventures’ Facebook Game!

According to Funtactix CEO Sam Glassenberg, “The Hunger Games Adventures” will be free to play, and takes place in an isometric version of Panem. Players, who play as characters bearing their own names rather than as characters from the books, will be able to spend real-world money in order to purchase upgrades and tools that will make their progress through the game smoother, but its makers insist that players will also be able fully to enjoy the gameplay without having to pay out any money.

At the game’s heart will be “World of Warcraft”-like quests, initially given by “The Hunger Games” characters Katniss and Peeta, and which involve completing simple in-game tasks. Players will also have their own “safe area” in the forest, where their energy will recharge, and which can be both decorated and fitted with in-game equipment.

The game will be played solo, however in order to complete certain tasks, players might need to share an item with or receive an item from a friend who is also playing the game.

Official iOS Game for The Hunger Games Coming Soon!

Lionsgate collaborated with Adam Saltsman, the creator of the popular arcade games Gravity Hook and Canabalt, to create an iOS game for The Hunger Games!

Here are more details from Adam’s blog:

And so, I am happy to announce that I am collaborating with Lionsgate and a kind of indie dream-team to make The Hunger Games: Girl on Fire for iOS. Mark Johns (Tap Tap Dance) and Kevin Coulton, the minds behind Doomlaser (Hot Throttle, Space Barnacle), are fleshing out the design while they program the game from scratch. Paul Veer (Super Crate Box, Serious Sam: The Random Encounter) is the lead artist and animator. Daniel Baranowsky (Canabalt, Super Meat Boy) is composing an original soundtrack inspired by the film. Ozone Sound & Music (Max and Al’s Heavy-Duty) are handling the sound effects, and the one and only Kert Gartner (Winnitron) will be putting together our launch trailer. It is a genuine honor to get to work alongside these fantastic people, and this project would not be possible without them.

The Hunger Games: Girl on Fire is coming soon to your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, timed to theatrical release.
