According to Russ,  the filming will continue for four more weeks, in Hawaii and in Los Angeles due to “technical issues”.

He also mentions that Mockingjay might possibly start filming this summer, July.

Screenwriter Danny Strong had finished writing the script for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1! He now has the go signal from Lionsgate to start with the script for the Part 2! We are still in the dark on how the studio will split Mockingjay in two parts.

Part 1 is expected to hit theaters on November 21, 2014 and Part 2 will be released November 20, 2015.

Hunger Games actress Elizabeth Banks confirmed on her official site earlier in October that DannyStrong will be the screenwriter for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Danny Strong confirmed the news himself.

As for Mockingjay — I can say very little about it. I was approached to pitch on it, and I just literally holed myself up for a week and came up with a presentation for two movies. I pitched my little heart out, and got the job. I literally can’t say anything else — I will just get in trouble. It’s, like, Defcon 5 on security over there. It’s really crazy.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is expected to hit theaters November 21, 2014 and Part 2 will be released November 20, 2015.

Lionsgate has officially confirmed that Director Francis Lawrence will helm The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2.  The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 will be released November 21, 2014. Part 2 will be out November 20, 2015.
