Hunger Games fans will have a chance to meet Tim Taylor at the Space City Con, which will be held in Houston, Texas on August 10-12. Here’s the official press release:
Dallas, Texas, July 22, 2012 – Tim Taylor, who played the GameKeeper (Game Tech) in the blockbuster hit The Hunger Games, will be a special guest at the first annual Space City Con, to be held August 10-12, 2012 at the Westin Galleria Convention Center in Houston.
Space City Con is an “all-ages festival of comics, sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, literature, and art, in the spirit of Houston, Texas.” The event will benefit the Kids Need to Read Foundation, an organization that works to create a culture of reading for children by providing inspiring books to underfunded schools, libraries, and literacy programs across the United States, especially those serving disadvantaged children.
“I’m very excited to meet Houston Hunger Games fans, sign some autographs and help the show support a worthy cause,” said Tim. Tim will be signing 8x10s and limited-edition mini posters for fans and participating in Q&A panels.
Among other notable guests at the show will be Nichelle Nichols, Uhura from the original Star Trek series, and Jesse David Frank, Tommy Oliver in the Power Rangers TV show.
Tim Taylor is a character actor with many film and television credits to his name. He was hand-picked by director Gary Ross to play the GameKeeper. Among his notable scenes in the film is the infamous “fireball” scene, in which he launches the fiery projectile that injures heroine Katniss.
